Monuments
The Town of Danvers is home to many Veterans' Monuments, Cemeteries and Fields, in honor of those who trained for and served during the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, the Mexican American War, World Wars I & II, The Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

Flag Pole at J. Ellison Morse Field, Dr. Deering Stadium, Danvers High School
A new flag pole was successfully installed by the Department of Public Works (DPW) at Danvers High School's J. Ellison Morse Field at Dr. Deering Stadium on Tuesday, July 23rd, following approval from Danvers Board of Selectmen. Now, thanks to the Danvers DPW, the Rotary Club of Danvers, and the Danvers Veterans Council, the flag flies beautifully within the Dr. Deering Stadium.

Spencer Hobbs Memorial
In 1930 Danvers Town Meeting appropriated money for a memorial of concrete and granite dust with an attached bronze tablet.

Vietnam War Memorial
This seven-foot-tall granite obelisk monument was dedicated June 9, 1984, as the Vietnam Memorial. Displayed on the front face is an effigy of a combat soldier giving honor to a fallen comrade and with an American flag behind him.

Village Training Field
Defense was a prime necessity to the early settlers of Salem Village, and as early as 1671 the male inhabitants began meeting here for military drill.

War of the Rebellion Memorial
On November 30, 1870, the Veterans War of the Rebellion Monument was dedicated to the memory of the over 90 soldiers and sailors who died in service. Talk of a monument began in 1868 with a committee created to solicit funds and find a suitable location.

15 World War I, 55 World War II, and 5 Korea conflict Danversites sacrificed their lives in service during these wars.
