Equity & Inclusion

The Director of Equity and Inclusion is responsible for furthering the development of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Town of Danvers. This includes, but is not limited to, creating programs to educate the community, reviewing existing policies and structures to ensure access, and supporting responses to complaints of discrimination. The Director works to ensure everyone is able to access opportunities and feels celebrated in their identities, regardless of their race, ethnicity, ability, sexuality, gender, socio-economic status, etc.

The Director works directly with the Town, the Schools and the Library, but also maintains partnerships with the Human Rights and Inclusion Committee, the Disability Commission, DanversCares, and other community stakeholders. Together we can make Danvers an even more welcoming place! You can hear more from the Director during her interview with Danvers Community Access Television.

The Town of Danvers is a member of the Massachusetts Municipal DEI Coalition. To learn more about the coalition and role of DEI Directors in municipal governments, go to the Massachusetts Municipal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coalition webpage.
