The Town will hold a tree planting ceremony at the Great Oak Elementary School on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 10:00 am to celebrate Arbor Day. There will be student representatives participating in the ceremony, and the planting of two oak trees donated by the Danvers Garden Club and the Corliss Brothers Nursery. This program is a combined effort between the Forestry Division, Danvers Garden Club, Corliss Brothers and Great Oak Elementary School.
Arbor Day is celebrated across the nation in all 50 states on the last Friday in April. Trees play a critical role in creating a healthier, safer, and more beautiful community. They help moderate temperature, clean our air, filter our water, produce oxygen needed for all living things, and are the key to creating diverse ecosystems worldwide.
