[ARCHIVED] Community Grant Opportunity for Non-Profit and Civic Organizations

Community Grant Opportunity

The Town of Danvers is pleased to announce a Request for Proposals (RFP) from non-profit organizations and civic organizations that serve Danvers residents.

In May of 2021, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced the launch of the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds, established by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA), to provide $350 billion in emergency funding for state, local, territorial, and Tribal governments.  Treasury also released details on the ways funds can be used to address pandemic-response needs, fill revenue shortfalls among state and local governments, and support the communities and populations hardest-hit by the COVID-19 crisis.

Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (“ARPA Funds”) provide local governments such as Danvers with one-time resources to meet pandemic response needs and rebuild stronger, more equitable communities as the country recovers. Within the categories of eligible uses, recipients have flexibility to decide how best to use this funding to meet the needs of their communities.

The Town of Danvers ARPA Plan calls for some of this funding to be directed toward those most in need in the Danvers community. The Town, through this RFP process, seeks to provide assistance primarily to organizations that provide youth/family services and community services located in Danvers, or serving residents of Danvers. Possible examples of assistance include, but are not limited to, utilities assistance, food assistance, fuel assistance, rent assistance, mental health programs, and job training programs. Grants may be requested in the range of $5,000 to $250,000.

RFP submissions are due by Thursday, June 15, 2023, by 11:00 AM through the Project Dog website.  Full details on the application process are available either on the Project Dog website or the Town Purchasing division webpage
