Chanukah | 2020

"A candle is a small thing, but one candle can light another. And see how its own light increases, as a candle gives its flame to the other. You are such a light." -Moshe Davis

December 10 | The first night of Chanukah 2020 was kicked off by 9th grader Jerry reciting the traditional Chanukah blessings and lighting the first candle. We'd like to extend our warmest thanks to Rabbi Sruli Baron of Tobin Bridge Chabad for the delivery of the menorah, the help of the DPW in its installation, and to our volunteers who will light the other candles over the next seven nights: Julie Curtis, Bob and Anne Gamer,  Jacob Greenberg, Donna Hopkins, Sally Kerans, and David Mills.

CC: “Blessed are you Adonai, our God, Ruler of the universe, who has made us holy through God’s commandments, and commanded us to light the Chanukah candles. Blessed are you Adonai our God, Ruler of the universe, who performed wonders for our ancestors in history at this very time of year. Blessed are you Adonai our God, Ruler of the universe, who gave us life, sustains us, and enabled us to reach this season.”

December 12 | Rabbi Sruli Baron of Tobin Bridge Chabad led blessings and lit the menorah for the third night of Chanukah. The event was livestreamed on NorthShoreChanukah.com.
