The Danvers Electric Division is committed to providing high quality, reliable and affordable electricity and other related services to its customers. Electric vehicles (EVs) are the future of personal transportation and are already offering both excellent efficiency and performance at increasingly affordable costs. Danvers has been awarded $25,000 from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection’s Electric Vehicle Incentive Program (MassEVIP) to install Level 2 EV charging stations for the public. Danvers Electric is committed to providing infrastructure to support vehicle electrification and proud to offer new public charging stations open to all EV drivers.

Located in the Hobart Street and the Holten/Elm public parking lots, these Level 2, dual-port units use ChargePoint technology and will fully charge an electric vehicle within five to six hours. They join an increasing network of ChargePoint stations throughout North America and can be located with the ChargePoint smartphone app and on the ChargePoint website, making driving electric and hybrid vehicles more convenient. The Town of Danvers is proud to begin offering this service to their customers and the general public.

Drivers of electric vehicles can register with and pay directly through the ChargePoint app. Cars will be charged a fee to recover service and maintenance costs. A flat fee of $1.25/hr has been set for both Level 2 charging stations.

Additionally, Danvers Electric has updated its Energy Conservation and Rebate program to include a one-time $300 rebate on residential Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations and associated installation costs.
