When is it?
The winter parking ban may be enacted from December 1 to April 1 if weather conditions warrant.
How is parking affected?
The Danvers Winter Parking Ban prohibits parking on public ways between 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM only if the parking ban is implemented. The fine for violating the parking ban is $25 and the vehicle may be towed.
How am I notified?
When a parking ban is instituted, you will be notified by the Town of Danvers by phone, e-mail and/or text message based on your preferences specified in our community notification system, Blackboard Connect. During “normal” operations, a Town-wide call will be made by 7:00 PM on the evening prior to an overnight parking being implemented. For “major” winter storms, a Town-wide call will be made no later than six hours ahead of the effective time, when possible.
Land lines of all residents and businesses are automatically included in our community notification system. If you would like to change your preferences, go to www.danversma.gov, select Departments—Public Works and click on “Set Up Notification Preferences”.
Message boards displaying the parking ban will be placed at the intersections of Poplar and Conant Streets and Maple and Forest Streets.
In addition, local news websites and DCAT are notified and information is posted to the Town of Danvers website at www.danversma.gov and social media. Like our Danvers DPW Facebook Page and follow us on Twitter @DanversDPW!
How long will the ban last?
Parking bans remain in effect until they are called off – this could be several days. A second call will be made when the parking ban is lifted. Please be mindful to keep vehicles off streets during snow storms when possible, even when the parking ban is not in place, to make the DPW’s job more efficient.
