Welcome to Danversport!

The Harbormaster's Office is responsible for providing marine law enforcement, rescue, and recreational services to boaters within Danvers Harbor.  The Town employs a professional staff of 1 full-time Harbormaster, a Deputy Harbormaster, 6 Assistant Harbormasters, as well as a number of Pumpout Boat Operators and Lifeguards.  All are committed to serving our Danvers boating community with courtesy and professionalism.

Located within Danversport's naturally protected harbor are several private marinas including the Danversport Yacht Club, Bunky's Marina, Liberty Marina, Mariner's Point and Pope's Landing Marine.  The Crane River Marina is the Town's only public marina and provides dockage for 68 vessels up to 25' in length.  The harbor is made up of four rivers; the Danvers River, Waters River, Cranes River and Porter River.  Collectively, Danvers is homeport to nearly 850 vessels.  Fuel and pumpout service station is available at the Danversport Yacht Club

Pope's Landing is located less than 1/2 mile from Route 128 (exit 23).  For a minimum charge of $5.00 ($75 for the season) you can launch your boat using our recently rebuilt boat launch ramp.  The Landing also offers public restrooms, a lighted parking lot, scenic park and picnic area.  There is a thirty minute tie-up area at the public dock for boaters who want to enjoy the view and use the picnic area.

The Danvers Harbormaster's Office has begun seasonal pumpout boat operations.  The days and hours of operation will be:

Sundays 8am-12pm

Monday(s) 8am-4pm

Tuesday(s) 8am-4pm

Thursday(s) 8am-4pm

Friday(s) 8am-4pm

Saturday(s) 8am-12pm

We will no longer be taking online registrations.  Instead, you will need to hail the pumpout boat on channel 09 VHF during the operating hours posted above.  You will need to be aboard your vessel at the time of pumpout and will be required to fill out and sign a brief waiver form.  A current 2022 Danvers waterways permit is required.

In years past we've averaged over 100 pumpouts per week.  This will not be possible this year with limited staffing, so we ask that you only hail the pumpout boat when absolutely needed and consider using the shore-based facilities whenever possible.

The FREE shore-based pumpout is still available at the Danversport Marina fuel dock and travel lift.  Please be sure to use the pumpout and do not discharge sewage into the waterways.  Report any violation of illegal discharge to the Harbormaster's Office at (978)762-0210.  Violators will be subject to a $2,000 fine.
