As a Certified SHINE Counselor, Lisa educates and counsels Medicare Beneficiaries about their Insurance Plan Options, providing guidance with enrollment and access to financial assistance programs such as MassHealth and Prescription Advantage.
Lisa facilitates two support groups at the Senior Center: Low Vision and the Challenges of Living alone. At these meetings, participants can learn about resources available and connect with others who are experiencing similar life changes.
Lisa coordinates a monthly grocery distribution through the Greater Boston Food Bank called the Commodity Supplement Food Program. In Fiscal Year 2019 this volunteer-driven program provided 22,185lbs of shelf-stable foods like rice, pasta, peanut butter, and tuna-fish, along with cheese and fresh fruits and vegetables to 88 income-eligible Seniors in the Danvers area.
