Danvers Electric Annual Service Availability

There are a few things we think about when measuring the reliability of our electric system for our customers. How often is electric service available when our customers need it? How often do we have outages? When there is an outage, how many customers are affected and for how long? To help answer these questions we use four industry standard reliability indices to track our performance:The gauge above shows the ASAI for Danvers – meaning that close to 100% of the time you go to flip a switch the power will be there. Below is how we stack up nationally to the average electric utility for SAIDI, SAIFI, and CAIDI.

Danvers has great numbers because we own and maintain our system. We proactively take care of vegetation and install animal guards on equipment to reduce outages. We are constantly making reliability improvements to the grid with new equipment, wire, and poles to avoid failure from aging infrastructure. We have a dedicated staff of engineers, lineworkers, and technicians to make sure the lights stay on - but if they do go out we get them back on as quickly as possible!

In fact, the Electric Division has received the Platinum Level Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) national designation from the American Public Power Association. This prestigious designation recognizes Danvers Electric for providing the highest degree of reliable and safe electric service to our customers – only the top 15% of the nation’s public power utilities hold an RP3.
