In Danvers, we are celebrating Earth Day by offering residents a two day event where they can recycle a variety of items not collected by curbside pickup! The Town of Danvers Department of Public Works Earth Day Zero Waste Weekend will be held on May 4 & 5, 2019, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Danvers High School parking lot at 60 Cabot Road. This residential event is co-sponsored with Big Brother Big Sister Foundation, XTechnology Global and JRM.Danvers America Recycles Days Flyer 2019Residents may bring bagged clothing, shoes, purses, linens and SELECT household goods for Big Brother Big Sister Foundation. DPW will also be collecting rigid plastics (trash barrels, buckets, tubs, bins, outdoor furniture, toys, etc.).Cub Scout Packs 16 & 155 will be collecting redeemable bottles & cans ALL WEEKEND.Thanks to funding from the Sustainable Materials and Recovery Program Grant, Danvers can offer its residents Compost Bins for a discounted price of $25. Recycling bins and carts will be available for purchase by residents at a discounted rate of $5 and $40, respectively. Residents can purchase these items at the event with a check made out to the Town of Danvers. No cash accepted.
