     Medicare's Annual Open Enrollment Presentation

    November 6, 2019, 10:45 am

As you may know, Medicare’s Annual Open Enrollment Period runs from October 15 to December 7 every year. During Open Enrollment, you have the opportunity to review and possibly change your Medicare Prescription Drug (Part D) Plan or Medicare Advantage (Part C) Plan for next year. Although your plan may have served you well this year, perhaps there are changes that will affect what you will pay in 2020. Sometimes a particular drug is no longer included in a Drug Plan's Formulary or the drug changes to a higher or lower Tier. Additionally, if you previously enrolled in Medicare, but never signed up for a Prescription Drug Plan, open enrollment is your chance to do so. For those new to Medicare and for those who have been on Medicare for years, navigating the Medicare lingo, narrowing down plan options, and knowing where to find answers is confusing and often overwhelming. Lisa Westrate, Social Service Outreach Coordinator & Certified SHINE counselor, will help break Medicare down into understandable parts and equip you with the information you need to make these important decisions at this time of your life.

Please call 978-762-0208 pre-register at the front desk for this informative session.

The Danvers Senior Center is located at 25 Stone Street off Holten St. in Danvers.

The SHINE (Serving the Health Insurance Needs of Everyone) Program provides free health insurance information and counseling to all Massachusetts residents with Medicare and their caregivers. People who have Medicare, or who are about to become eligible for Medicare, can meet with a certified SHINE Counselor to learn about benefits and options available. A counselor will review programs that help people with limited income to pay health care costs.
