Memorial Day 2020 – Virtual Ceremony, 6 pm

MayMay 25 2020

6:00pm - 7:00pm

The Memorial Day Parade and Town Hall Ceremony for this year, 2020, will be observed in a alternative manner this year due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The Town of Danvers Veterans Department and Danvers Veterans Council have come up with a creative way to ensure that the sacrifice is honored as fully and appropriately as possible.

This year a virtual Memorial Day Ceremony will be broadcast on DCAT (Danvers Community Access Television) on Monday, May 25th, at 10 a.m.  following a ROLLING PARADE. This prerecorded video will also air at Channel 99 (Comcast), Channel 36 (Verizon), as well as DCAT’s YouTube Channel, and Facebook Page. The ceremony will be shown a second time at 6 p.m.

The program will include bagpipes, Alarm List volleys, the Danvers High School Band playing the Star Spangled Banner, and a special talk of Danvers Memories by the Town Archivist Richard Trask.
