Lecture Series: “Capturing Florida Panthers: A Tree Climber’s Perspective”
Join us for an interactive lecture series in our NEW Nature Center! We are partnering with the library to bring in top-notch speakers, along with a mini-library of books related to the topic of that day’s talk that will be available to be rented out right from the Nature Center. Guest lecturers to include researchers, scientists, farmers, professors, or other professionals in the field. Each month a different nature topic is discussed by a different speaker, leaving plenty of time for you to ask questions and engage in thought-provoking discussion with the other attendees.
- August 11th 10am -12pm ($10 per person) “Capturing Florida Panthers: A Tree Climber’s Perspective” by Everglades Region Biologist, Dennis Giardina: Dennis will share with us stories from his years of tracking, tagging, and climbing trees to capture these endangered cats. He will discuss human interactions with wildlife, and the importance of conservation and protection of wild lands and endangered species.
