Placing of Flags on Veterans' Graves
Flags will be placed at the graves of the fallen on Wednesday afternoon prior in preparation for Memorial Day. Flags will be available to those who are interested in helping to place them.
Meet at Walnut Grove Cemetery at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2020.
Message from Dick Moody, President of the Danvers Veterans Council:
We are in need of volunteers to come to Walnut Grove Cemetery tomorrow afternoon (Wed, May 20th) to place flags on the graves of veterans. This is a golden opportunity to get out of the house and do something to remember those who have gone before.
Each year, the flag placement is the unofficial start of the Memorial Day celebration, and this year it is no different. I need your help in putting the flags on the graves. We will be meeting at the headquarters just inside the Cemetery entrance. Please try to be there, young and old, to take part in this patriotic tribute. It should not last more than 45 minutes, so please come down and join in.Dick Moody
