4:00pm - 7:00pm
The Town of Danvers welcomes residents to its annual Open House on Thursday, October 12 from 4-7 PM. In addition, we’ll take the opportunity to celebrate National Fire Prevention Week and recognize Public Power Week which occurs October 1-7.
“Open House is an opportunity for residents to get a behind the scenes look at what goes on in their municipal offices,” said Town Manager Steve Bartha. “Please join us for what is sure to be an educational and fun-filled evening. Best of all, it’s free!”
Transportation to the Fire Station, Library via Town Hall, Electric Division, and Danvers Recreation at Endicott Park will be provided by the Salem Trolley. Parking is limited at all sites – please use the municipal parking area across from Town Hall or leave your car at Endicott Park. Due to ongoing construction of the new Dispatch Center at the Police Station, Town Hall is partnering with the Police Department to showcase some of their vehicles and to offer hot dogs at the Trolley pick-up area outside of Town Hall. Please note that there are no activities planned inside Town Hall.
The following are highlights of activities offered at each location during Open House:
- Fire Department: With fire safety as the theme, walk through a “Smoke House,” witness the Jaws of Life in action, and enjoy a slice of pizza.
- The Electric Division: Check out the Electric Village and a utility test truck, ride in a bucket truck and try your hand at cookie decorating.
- Danvers Recreation @ Endicott Park: Visit the barnyard animals, decorate pumpkins in the visitors’ center, and enjoy supervised games.
- Library (via Town Hall drop off): Kids can make their own spin art, a Halloween craft, and enjoy a Hoodsie.
