  • Add to calendar 2020-04-14 18:30:00 2020-04-14 19:30:00 America/New_York Wilderness Skills Workshop- Fire Building & Fire Safety Fire is an essential skill that allows us to cook food, purify water, stay warm, and boost morale in any wilderness situation.  Anyone spending time outdoors should be proficient at fire making.  Join staff Park Ranger Nate Swisher in learning the basics of fire that can not only safe your life, but enhance your outdoor experience. This series will be presented with families and individuals in mind.  We ask that attendees be at least 8 years of age and have a strong interest in the outdoor skills being presented.  Most topics will be for those with little to no experience, but all classes will be flexible and can be tailored to the group.  Discussions and hands on work will be encouraged, but there will be no heavy lifting or strenuous activities.  These classes will be held in Endicott Park’s Nature Center with short hikes and walks taking place around the property to cover experiential learning.
