Administrative Assistant – Inspectional Services | Town of Danvers

The Town of Danvers seeks applications for the part-time, benefited position of Administrative Assistant in the Inspectional Services Department. The Town of Danvers is a reputable Town on the North Shore, providing a supportive and welcoming environment for Town staff. Under the general direction of the Building Commissioner, this position provides administrative support for the division while providing excellent customer service to the general public and contractors.

Duties include performing general office work including record keeping and filing, correspondence, application processing, coordinating the preparation of reports, and acting as the first point of contact for inquiries from the general public.

This position requires a degree from high school, trade school, or equivalent. Two (2) years of college-level courses in related studies are preferred. Three (3) to five (5) years of clerical experience required, at least one of which must be in municipal government and experience working with the public and responding to customers service requests, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced experience with computers and Microsoft Office is required, as well as a valid driver’s license.

This is a part-time, 19 hour per week position, exact schedule TBD. The Town of Danvers offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes pro-rated paid time off and health and dental insurance. This position is not eligible for retirement. This is a union position that starts at $25.86/hour, with the ability to move up the pay scale to a top step of $32.76/hour.
