The Town of Danvers seeks applications for the full-time leadership position of Chief Assessor. As a member of the Town’s Leadership Team, the Chief Assessor performs responsible varied duties relating to managing the assessment and appraisal function for the Town of Danvers and may have opportunities to collaborate with other services, including economic development and general municipal finance.
The Town will consider any combination of relevant work experience, volunteering, education, and transferable skills as qualifying unless an item in the qualification section of the job description is labeled required. Five to seven years of experience in real state, personal property appraisal, and/or municipal experience. Bachelor’s Degree related to business, finance, economics, or property appraisal. Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in personnel management preferred. Massachusetts Accredited Assessor (MAA) certification or ability to obtain within two years, required. Certified Massachusetts Assessor (CMA) preferred. This position works 35 hours per week. Management (M-3) pay scale starting at $85,226, with the ability to move through scale (via step system) to the max step at $111,545.
