The Town of Danvers seeks applications for the full-time, temporary position of Constituent Generalist. The Town of Danvers is a reputable Town on the North Shore, providing a supportive and welcoming environment for Town staff, including a commitment to professional development and policies that support a health work/life balance.  This position serves as the first point-of-contact for all visitors to Town Hall. This position will have exposure to all facets of municipal government, and is a great opportunity for a college student looking to gain local government experience.

Duties include providing general assistance to Town Hall visitors, monitoring the number of people in Town Hall with respect to COVID-19 restrictions, addressing routine inquiries that may not necessitate an office visit, and assisting on special projects throughout various departments.

The Town will consider any combination of relevant work experience, volunteering, education, and transferable skills as qualifying unless an item in the qualification section of the job description is labeled required. Required qualifications include graduation from a high school, trade school or equivalent, and graduation from or current enrollment in a higher education program. Experience with Microsoft Word and strong customer services required. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in reception and bilingualism.

This is a full-time, 35 hour per week position with normal work hours of Monday through Wednesday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Thursday 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This position will be guaranteed employment through September 2021, to be reevaluated based on needs of the Town at that time. Non-Union pay scale, $19.28-$23.49 per hour DOQ.
