Danvers, MA (Pop. 27,000) Desirable and fiscally sound North Shore community with a $116 million operating budget seeks an experienced and energetic leader to join the senior management team as the Director of Administration and Finance, providing administrative oversight to staff in accounting, assessing, treasurer/collector, clerk’s office, procurement, and the retirement system.

The successful candidate will oversee advanced accounting work, manage the financial affairs of the Town, including the retirement system, and serve under the direction of the Town Manager as the chief financial advisor to the Town Manager, Board of Selectmen, Finance Committee, and town and school department heads regarding financial forecasting strategies, plans, and management.  Danvers enjoys a AA2 rating from S & P.

The ideal candidate will bring a selfless attitude and creative approach to his or her work, possess a sense of humor along with a sense of urgency, and embrace inclusion, integrity, accountability, collaboration, and positivity as core values.  A master’s degree and 5-7 years of experience desired, with a degree in finance or public administration preferred.  Salary range is $105,000 to $135,000; starting salary dependent on experience.  Generous benefits package.
