The Town of Danvers seeks qualified applicants to join our team as the Director of Public Health. This full-time, benefited position performs duties relative to the protection and education of public health, the control of diseases, the promotion of sanitary living conditions and the enforcing of public health laws and regulations. Responsible for the investigation of complaints of violations, conducting routine inspections, reviewing permits and licenses to be issued by the Board of Health, reviewing building plans to verify public health compliance, and the coordination of Board of Health public events. This position reports to the Director of Planning & Economic Development, which is part of the Lane Use and Community Services Department.
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Biology or other related field, and have held a position with progressive responsibility in public health administration for at least five years, or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. This position also requires that applicants be a State Certified Soil Evaluator and Title V Inspector, Certified Pool Operator, Food Safety Manager, Lead Paint Determinator and Housing Inspector. Advanced knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office is required.
Management pay scale, $75,615 – 100,946, starting rate DOQ. Excellent benefits package (health and dental insurance, paid time off, retirement plan, training, EAP, and more). This is a 40-hour a week position.
