The Town of Danvers welcomes applications for the full-time position of Equipment Operator with the Streets Division. The Town of Danvers is a reputable community on the North Shore, providing a supportive and welcoming environment for Town staff – including a commitment to professional development and policies to support a healthy work/life balance. This position is responsible for operating specialized equipment in performing construction and maintenance tasks throughout highways, water and sewer systems, buildings, grounds, and other Town properties.

The Town will consider any combination of relevant work experience, volunteering, education, and transferable skills as qualifying unless an item in the qualification section of the job description is labeled required.  

Two to Three (2-3) years’ experience in public works, to include operation of gas and diesel hydraulic equipment. Graduation from high school or trade school required. Associates degree desirable. Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License including general knowledge and air brake and tanker endorsements required. Requires possession of Hydraulics License.  Completion of, or ability to complete within six (6) months of hire, OSHA Confined Spaces Safety Course is required. This position works 40 hours per week. Union payscale (Grade 9) starting at $47,787, with the ability to move through scale to the max step at $54,514. Hiring rate DOQ. Excellent benefits including educational and professional development opportunities.
