Town of Danvers | Head of Children’s Services    

The Peabody Institute Library of Danvers is seeking applications for the full-time benefitted position of Head of Children’s Services. The Town of Danvers is a reputable Town on the North Shore, providing a supportive and welcoming environment for Town staff – including a commitment to professional development and policies to support a healthy work/life balance. The Head of Children’s services implements and oversees all activities of the library Children’s Department relating to programming, collection management, outreach, and reference and reader’s advisory for children ages 0 to 11 and their caregivers/families.

The Peabody Institute Library will consider any combination of relevant work experience, volunteering, education, and transferable skills as qualifying unless an item in the qualification section of the job description is labeled required. Desired qualifications include any combination of: Master of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited school required; five years of library experience that includes working with children’s programming; 2 or more years of supervisory experience or equivalent combination of work/education experience; and a commitment to providing service excellence to every person who visits, works, or resides in the Town of Danvers by embodying the organization’s five core values: inclusion, integrity, accountability, positivity, and collaboration.  A valid driver’s license is required.

A typical work week for this position is 37.5 hours a week, and the anticipated hiring range (DOQ) is $56,169 to $71,260.  Excellent benefits.
