The Town of Danvers seeks qualified candidates to join our team for the full-time, benefited position of Park Ranger Foreman in the Department of Land Use & Community Services. The Town of Danvers is a reputable Town on the North Shore, providing a supportive and welcoming environment for Town staff. The Park Ranger Foreman is responsible for the care and upkeep of the Town’s natural resources, structures, and parks, including Endicott Park. The Park Ranger Foreman provides care of farm animals including livestock and poultry, assisting the Program Coordinator with educational presentations, performing barn chores, landscaping and flower bed maintenance, and generally monitoring the park and assisting patrons as needed.
Qualified applicants must 18-years-old by the date of hire, and have graduated from high school, trade school, or an equivalent. An Associate degree in Horticulture, Urban Forestry, or Environmental Science is preferred. Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Successful candidates must have successfully completed a police academy for Reserve/Intermittent Police Officers, or have the ability to complete such training within two (2) years of employment. Candidates must possess current CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, or have the ability to obtain certification within two (2) months of employment. Valid driver’s license required. Successful candidates will also possess a MA Hoisting 2A License, or have the ability to obtain within two (2) months of employment; a MA Pesticide Applicator’s License, or have the ability to obtain within six (6) months employment.
This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position with some weekends and holidays required, particularly during the summer months. Non-Union pay scale starting at $22.79 per hour, with the ability to move up to $27.78 per hour via step system.
