Summer Help | Danvers Department of Public Works

The Danvers Public Works department is hiring qualified staff for summer positions. This is a great opportunity for college students or recent high schools graduates to enter into the public works field and gain experience working in a variety of general labor roles.

Opportunities are available in the following divisions: Buildings (routine custodial work); Grounds (landscaping work such as weed whacking, mowing); Streets (filling potholes and street sign maintenance); and Water (assisting the Water Distribution crew on routine repairs and maintenance).

These summer positions typically begin in June and continues for, 13 weeks. Positions work 40 hours a week, Monday – Friday, 7 AM – 3 PM.

Qualified applicants must be 18 years old by the first date of employment and a graduate of high school, trade school, or an equivalent. A valid driver’s license is required. Applicants must have a basic familiarity with basic hand and power tools such as hammers, shovels, and power saws.  A valid drivers license and favorable CORI results are required.

Pay rate $17.00 per hour. There are no benefits associated with this position.
