Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday June 18 for the new traffic signals and roadway improvements at the Maple Street and Summer Street Intersection. The work will be performed under the supervision of the Town of Danvers consulting engineer, Vanasse Hangen Brustlin(VHB). The Contractor performing this work will be Allied Paving Corporation.
Allied Paving hours of work will take place between the hours of 7:00am and 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. The anticipated time frame of substantial completion is November 2018. Due to the work hours and nature of this type of construction you may experience some temporary inconveniences such as traffic delays and detours. The Town and its consulting engineer will make every effort to keep these inconveniences to a minimum.
The roadway and traffic control improvements will alter approximately 1,000 feet of Maple Street and approximately 500 feet of Summer Street. The major components of the work will consist of, but is not limited to; installation of a new traffic signal system, installing pedestrian accommodations that will comply with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations, new travel lane configurations, minor road widening of Summer Street, removing and replacing the existing Summer Street center islands, pavement milling and pavement overlay, cement concrete wheelchair ramps and new bituminous concrete sidewalks.
