Posted on October 17, 2019

OUTAGE UPDATE (as of 3:50 PM, 10/19/19): Crews have again worked through the night and Saturday, and have restore power to 98% of the Town. We continue to appreciate everyone’s patience and support.

Work is nearing completion on the extensive damage to Sylvan/Pine/Adams streets and is expected to be complete this afternoon. There are still a few pockets of houses that we a getting crews to as quickly as possible and expect these to be completed throughout this afternoon and evening.

There remain individual customers experiencing outages while their neighbors’ lights are on. Crews are going through these as soon as possible and should have addressed all by tonight. In the case when the service equipment on the house has been damaged, crews will notify the customer that they will require an electric and Inspectional Services “ok” before we are able to re-energize the house.

If you are still experiencing an outage tonight and have not been notified that you need an electrician, please call the Police Department and we will have a crew dispatched to your residence

OUTAGE UPDATE (as of 8:15 PM, 10/18/19): Crews (consisting of Town, Contractors and crews from Middleton) are continuing through the night and tomorrow to restore power to the remaining impacted area of Town.

Currently crews are working in the St. Hilaire/Webb/Porter street area. Also, Lawrence street is energized and crews are now focusing on Fowler street.

Ongoing work is being done to repair the extensive damage to Sylvan/Pine/Adams streets as well as Durkee and Flint Streets and will continue through the night into morning.

There are still customers experiencing outages while their neighbors lights are on. Crews are going through these type of outages as soon as possible but this site specific work will continue into tomorrow. If service equipment on the house has been damaged, crews will notify the customer that they require an electrician to repair and Town Inspectional Services to approve, before the Electric department is able to re-energize the house.

We cannot stress enough how appreciative we are of the cooperation and support from the residents and business owners of Danvers.

POWER OUTAGE UPDATE (as of 9:25 AM,10/18/19): Line Operations, Tech Services, and Engineering crews have worked non-stop through the night in the restoration effort and have energized the majority of Town. We are very appreciative of the patience of our community.

Work is continuing this morning on the substantial damage to the areas around Ash/Arthur/Chase/Fowler/Lawrence streets and the Back Bay area, including Bayview/Chase/Hunt/Porter streets. Work in these areas will continue throughout the day.

Additionally, major damage in the Park/Hyde/Pine/Otis and Whipple, Larabee, and Lantern areas will take extensive effort for the remainder of today.

We have received mutual aid from the Town of Middleton, and with the addition of their aid and the continued efforts of the Danvers Electric department, we expect the majority of this work will be completed by this evening and power restored to the remaining approx. 100 service issues throughout the Town.

We appreciate everybody providing outage information through the oms@danversma.gov email and would like to remind everyone this is only a one-way notification and is unable to provide individual updates to customers.
