June 5 Downtown Pride Booth

Om of Kaffmandu generously hosted the HRIC on his sidewalk for their first annual Pride Booth! Visitors received stickers, flags, bubbles, and purchased raffle tickets benefitting the DHS SUFA to enter for a chance to win one of several Pride Prize Packs, sponsored by the Friends of the HRIC!

A big thank you to our members who staffed the booth - Deb Gesualdo, Bill Graham, Donna Hopkins, Kristen Perkins, and Amanda Symmes - as well as Officer David Pieroni for his assistance in setup!

Finally, we'd like to extend big congratulations to the winners of the Pride Prize Packs, and thank them for sponsoring such a great cause - Sean D, Bill & Graham, Jamie L, Lisa S, Beth W, Sheli & Max D,, and Amanda S!

June 3 Pride Flag Ceremony

The rainbow flags are up! The Danvers Police kicked off Pride month with a small flag raising ceremony at headquarters, followed by a gathering at Town Hall sponsored by the HRIC.

HRIC Chair Dee Djoko welcomed the group, followed by Town Manager Steve Bartha. Gigi, "The Queen of Salem," spoke about the history of Pride month in Danvers before hitting the crowd for photo ops with star struck students! DHS senior and president of the Anti-Discrimination Club Noelle Borbeau addressed the crowd before assisting The Hon. David Mills in raising the rainbow flag.
