Board & Committee Meetings During COVID-19 Emergency

In order to mitigate the transmission of the COVID-19 Virus, the Town has been advised and directed by the Commonwealth to suspend public gatherings, and as such, the Governor’s Order suspends the requirement of the Open Meeting Law to have all meetings in a publicly accessible physical location. Further, all members of public bodies are allowed and encouraged to participate remotely.  Remote meetings can be viewed by tuning into your government access channel on your home TV (channel 22 - Comcast; channel 41 - Verizon) and online:

May 4 at 8:30 AM - Municipal Light Board

May 6 at 5:30 PM - Select Board

May 17 at 7:30 PM - Annual Town Meeting

May 20 at 7:00 PM - Select Board

The Order, which you can find with agenda materials and here, allows public bodies to meet entirely remotely so long as reasonable public access is afforded so that the public can follow along with the deliberations of the meeting.

Supporting materials for the meeting is posted with the event details (located below, click meeting name to view material).

Public Comment During Meetings

Ensuring public access does not ensure public participation unless such participation is required by law.  Various meetings and agenda items will or will not allow comment.

Some meetings will allow public comment by email or phone during the meeting.  To make public comment during a meeting, email: [email protected] and include the Board or Committee Name and date of the meeting in the subject line [ex. BOS - 3/24/2020].  Additionally, the email must include your name and address in the email.  We are unable to read any emails without this information.

Other public meetings will require the public who wish to participate in the meeting under new businesses or an advertised public hearing to pre-register.  Once you have pre-registered, please use these instructions on how to join and participate in the meeting.

The posted agenda will include the form of public comment (email, phone, or pre-registration).
