Town office buildings will remain closed to the public until no earlier than June 1, however, staff continues to work remotely and from certain offices to ensure services continue and residents/customer needs are addressed.
Governor Baker weeks ago identified this coming Monday (May 18th) as a key date with respect to his administration’s planning process. We are all waiting in anticipation to see what guidance is provided next week in terms of the gradual reopening of non-essential businesses in the Commonwealth; every indication suggests it will be a measured, disciplined, and careful process. The Town of Danvers will take this same approach for the well-being of our residents and employees.
A Town of Danvers reopening committee has met several times over the past two weeks to discuss our reopening as well as specific requirements, procedures, and timelines, the work of this committee will continue as more information becomes available from the Baker-Politio Administration. Much remains fluid in our planning, as guidance from the Governor, MA-DPH, and local Public Health will influence when and how we return, and we will do our best to give everyone as much advance notice as possible once a decision has been made.
