Today, the Baker-Polito Administration announced that effective tomorrow, February 18th, residents ages 65+, individuals (ages 16+) with two or more specific medical conditions (listed here), and residents and staff of public and private low income and affordable senior housing are eligible to receive the vaccine. Danvers residents who meet the criteria listed are encouraged to register for vaccination at the State site at the DoubleTree hotel. Registration for the State site, and other local sites such as retail pharmacies, will be available at the following link starting tomorrow: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-vaccination-locations.
The Town of Danvers is hosting a vaccination clinic tomorrow, which is at capacity. Effective the week of March 1st, the state will no longer provide first dose vaccines for individual municipal clinics, therefore Danvers will refocus efforts on ensuring residents are able to book appointments at the State site, plan and organize vaccination of homebound residents and ensure residents living in public and private low income and affordable senior housing are able to access the vaccine.
The States call line, 2-1-1, is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with operators fluent in Spanish and more than 150 other languages. The Town’s call center will be operating on Thursday, February 18th and Friday, February 19th from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM both days to assist residents with questions and registration. Additionally, the Medical Reserve Corps has a cell center available daily (M-F) from 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM at 978-717-3700 for residents who do not have internet access.
