WHAT IS A VSO
Did you know that every city and town in Massachusetts has a Veterans’ Service Officer (VSO) responsible for serving the Veteran population in that town, or district?
WHO IS MY VSO?
In Danvers, our VSO is Kelley Rayos-Teixeira, an Honorably Discharged Marine Veteran. To learn who is responsible for another community, call the Town Hall or visit the website of the respective community. If you don't live in Danvers, you can find your VSO from this: List of Massachusetts Veterans Service Officers
HOW CAN A VSO HELP ME?
Veterans Service Officers can assist with a variety of thing such as filing VA disability claims, applying for Non-Service Connected Pensions, or Aid & Attendance. Your VSO can assist with applying for VA Health Benefits, requesting discharge records, and can provide information about educational benefits and burial entitlements. The local Veterans Office can also provide financial assistance and/or reimbursement for medical expenses through a MA State Veterans Benefit made available through Mass General Laws CH 115 for Veterans, as well as, their widows and dependents who meet eligibility criteria.
